Bollywood has always been a portal for new talented and versatile actors with a lot of potential. 2015 has introduced to us many such actors, some of who were successful and some of whom weren’t but both showcased their talents beautifully. This year may surpass last year in the debutant’s department many have shown promising debut with great future ahead, here are some of such debutants.

Pooja Hegde – Mohenjo-daro

Birth: October 13, 1990

Education:   M.Com from M.M.K. College

Debut: Mugamoodi (tamil)

You may have seen this beautiful twenty-five year old in ‘fair & lovely’ ads, she is not new to the big screen and has already made her impression in South Indian Films both telugu and tamil. This Mangalorean beauty made her debut in the tamil superhero film Mugamoodi after a modelling career. She was brought up in Mumbai and is fluent in Tulu, English, Kannada and Hindi. Pooja is making her debut in the much anticipated Ashutosh Gowarike directed and Hirthik Roshan staring period film, Mohenjo-daro. The trailer shows the beauty standing tall and beautiful next to the Indian Greek god Hrithik.

Gautam Gulati – Azhar

Born: November 27, 1987

Education: University of Delhi

Debut: Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki (tv show)

This twenty-eight year old actors was introduced in Ekta kapoor’s mythological show Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki as Duryodhan and continued to grace the small screen. Technically Azhar is not Gautam’s debut, he has previously stared in two movies which have both been hugely unsuccessful and have gone unnoticed. He came into the limelight after he won the reality TV show Big Boss, after which he was selected to star alongside Emraan Hashmi in the movie Azhar. Though the movie did not fare as good as expected, Gautam has shown great potential in his portrayal of the cricketer Ravi Shastri. His next movie M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story is yet to release, which is based on the cricketer M.S.Dhoni and he plays the role of the bowler Zaheer Khan.

Mahira Khan – Raees

Born: December 21, 1982

Education: University of Southern California (discontinued)

Debut: MTV’s Most Wanted as host

This Pakistani beauty has rocked the Pakistani small screen for a very long time adding great shows like Neeyat, Humsafars etc under her belt and has also starred in a handful of Pakistani movies. This thirty-three year old actress is making her debut in Bollywood starring opposite the king khan Shahrukh in the much awaited Raees. Even after being threatened by Shiv Sena she has continued her acting with a lot of bravery. Mahira has already made a place for herself in the heart of Indian audience with her Pakistani shows and this movie will just make her dearer to the audience.

Harshvardhan Kapoor – Mirziya

Born: November 9, 1990

Education: Course in screenplay writing/cinematography/acting

Debut: Mirziya

The son of Anil Kapoor has acting in his blood and with a sibling like Sonam kapoor already established in the industry his debut is much awaited. He will be making his debut in Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra’s much-awaited love story Mirziya opposite to Saiyami Kher who is the niece of Shabana Azmi. Mirziya’s trailer is quite intriguing, shows the movie to being set in rural Rajasthan and having quite an action -packed sequences. Hope his debut fares much better than his sister’s debut film Saawariya, which was quite a disappointment.

Sanya Malhotra – Dangal

Though much is unknown about this curly haired Delhi beauty other than few of her advertisement appearance she must be quite talented to bag such a huge role. Sanya is to play Amir Khan’s daughter in the much awaited film Dangal which is created on the life of former wrestler and Coach Mahavir Singh Phogat. This movie may show how the former wrestler trains his daughter and one niece for the Commonwealth Games and Sanya is to play one of the daughters, Babita Kumari who is a silver medal winning female wrestler. If she becomes a hit, she will be another proof of how talent doesn’t need a famous relative to succeed in this industry.
